Oh yeah!

I met Jimmy when I met Ronnie back around '89. Long story. Ronnie was up for a chat, but Jimmy was so off his face he couldn't put two words together, so he just stood there and listened to Ronnie and me and my buddy, nodding his head like he knew what was going on. He didn't fool any of us. His eyes were literally popping out of his head.

That was a great Dio concert with Viv Campbell (who's ex-girlfriend I still know) and Jimmy. Can't remember who was on drums. :cheers2:

Nothing metal.

John Paul Jones (ever really listened to what he's doing when this gets going?)

Chris Squire
Stanley Clarke
Doug Pinnick

Favorite bass solo, Jeff Berlin

19 year old Tal Wilkenfeld (the drummer keeps trying to fuck her up but he can't)

The part that starts at 1:40 is insane.

I love JPJ but his tone is pretty meh IMO

I love a fat, distorted bass with some midrange and a pinch of high end that gels perfectly with high-gain guitars. That's what I try to aim for when recording my own songs.

If I was a bass player. It would be this!
Super punchy grooving.
