take it froma fellow pack rat. If your not using it, loose it. You have more then enough cabs to get the job done.

That said, I have been looking for 65's forever but I don't have the scratch!!

I agree...I have a lot of 'stuff' I'm not using much...and really, I don't have a reason to keep some of it...other than I feel I should hold on to it.


New motto: stuff I use regularly stays...the rest goes.

I would keep more than what you listed, but that is just me. Let a few pieces go, see how it feels. Another idea, take a few items to a friend, put them in a closet, etc. If you don't want to use them in a month or 2, than they probably should go. If you miss them, then you know what you want to keep.

I struggle all the time with what is the right amount of gear. I try to keep what I feel comfortable with. Its difficult to know how much that is though.

I am interested in the mesa 1/2 back 212 if you do sell it.

I am still not sure and this may end up NOT happening, but I was thinking of keeping 67 plexi, 71 SL, Mark III and Mark IV. 2 greenback Marshall cabs, 1 blackback 30's cab, 1 65 cab, 1 75 cab, and 3 1/2back Mesa cabs. So that would mean I would sell:

Peavey 5150 block logo w/ bias mod.
Marshall Super Lead from 1974 in very, very good condition w/ PPVI master... I may want to keep
Marshall JCM 800 2204. Modded, but can easily be made stock. w/ PPIV
JCM800 slant with blackback 25's. Has 2 grill cloths…one salt and pepper basketweave and on top of it small check.
Late 70's Marshall Slant with 65's (original small check grill cloth)
Early 70's Marshall Straight with large check (original) loaded with blackback 30's…. I may want to keep?
Mesa 1/2 back 4x12 loaded with Vintage 50's
Mesa 1/2 back 4x12 loaded with 4 MC-90's.
Mesa 1/2 back 2x12 loaded with MC-90/EVM 12L
Peavey 5150 slant cab loaded with 4 Vintage 30's
Peavey 5150 straight loaded with 2 Vintage 30 and 2 75's

As well as 2 USA Jackson Soloists...

So after discussing this some more with my wife… I have decided to only sell some rack equipment and Peavey 5150 cabs for now. My rack sit in the storage side of the basement and actually is in the way of shelves, etc. So off to eBay it will go….

Good decision. No use to rush into anything and regret it later

I see above that someone already has digs on the halfback 212, put me on the list as the next contact. Its not like I need another cab right now anyway, but it would be nice to have.
