Every single one of those guys write insufferably bad music

Even when, like in the case of rabea, they seem like nice dudes or whatever

That's one of the really tragic parts of this new "influencer era" is that the new guitar heroes have no talent to go with their 10 thousand hours. It's just the 10 thousand hours of practice.

Back in the day, that was where the rubber met the road; everyone knew half a dozen guys on their block who could shred. The real separation was guys who could rock.

With youtube, we now see plenty of teenage or younger "prodigies" and of course older players who can expertly parrot something written by someone else (usually with a modeling amp and all of the easy buttons engaged + lots of delay, etc), but couldn't even compose their way out of a paper bag. Or manage the challenge of playing before a sizeable (or even small) live audience for that matter.

Yep. And it's funny, especially because of COVID introducing lots of newcomers to the guitar space, they have no idea that theres a huge difference between say marty music, and ola freaking englund lol

As if teaching beginners "come as you are" on film and playing wacken in front of 60 thousand people is comparable

To anyone whos done this for real, as in with bands and playing shows, the difference is obvious

I have been considering starting a AC/DC cover band, but sing all of the lyrics like the guy from the B52's. Before anyone judges, think about the ease but also...the quality.
