From Sonic Boom, which isn't a fav, I like Danger Us; Never Enough reminds me of 70s era Kiss. Say Yeah is ok too.
I think some of these songs were late and didn't fit the time they were released; had they been released in the 70s or early '80s the reception would have been much better.
What many seem to miss with the commercials, broadway, art, books, cruises, the Elder, etc., is that Kiss always took chances and were willing to try something different, and if they failed, they got back up and on to the next thing. By the time of Sonic Boom, they went back to basics too late for the times. Also, they had such a long catalog, there was no need to keep releasing new music as it wouldn't reach the status / acceptance of the old music.
When I listen to post-Bon Scott AC/DC, Priest and Maiden for example, everything is very similar...few or no chances taken; they stick to the familiar tried and true formula...seems that worked well for them. Even Aerosmith took a few chances...AC/DC certainly didn't.
IMO
