Personally I love Black One. I think it's Sunn O)))s darkest album and it also has guest appearances by quite a few prominent USBM musicians, namely Wrest of Leviathan/Lurker of Chalice, and Malefic of Xasthur. For the track Erszebet Bathory I believe they actually locked Malefic in a coffin and recorded him through that.

If you like Khanate though check out their albums and other songs, Dead is a great song with an awesome video. Also Burning Witch may be another band worth looking into, same members as Khanate roughly but with more doom and less drone.

I don't know what Sunn O)))) is, but it's absolute shit, and there's nothing musical about it whatsoever. Add Yoko Ono and you'll actually improve the band.

Well Sunn O))) are a drone band created after their love of the band Earth and their love of Sunn amplifiers. Nothing "musical" perhaps but to maintain that slow of timing I'd say is pretty impressive. Also you can't deny the influence some of these drone bands have, especially Earth. Earth2 is arguably the greatest masterpiece of drone in existence. Me and a friend actually just bought that on vinyl as well.

alabama thunderpussy is my least fave of the bunch. it depends on what their singer sounds like and that varies quite a bit from album to album, imo. hopefully, the new guy (ex-exhorder) will be more consistant...unless that's what they were going for in the first place.
