If you got the cash go with a recto cab, second hand they aren't too steep and they sound excellent.

Maybe they don't have his maths
It's possible. I'm 53 years old & this thread reminds me of my first "Adults only BBQ" My wife & I were invited to YEARS ago. There was a guy at the BBQ that was so insistent in something he was saying about a local sports team that when news came across his Iphone completely destroying his whole talking point, he refused to acknowledge it & left the party immediately.

The difference here is that article would just be an opinion. Our resident expert said you can never be wrong if you believe it deeply or some.other gay shit

Cranking amps is not something high gain guys do. It is loose butthole. The whole cranking amps comes from people with low gain amps to "give up the goods"

That little colloquialism that TGP forumites use makes me throw up in my mouth a bit to repeat.

It is why you can tell where The~fuckwad gets his "information"

The fact that he spouts that nonsense here, especially when speaking of a high gain amp tells you he doesn't understand high gain and begs the question why he spammed this post with his parroted bullshit instead of letting people that play high gain answer the question so that we do not spread ignorance
Honestly..... This is comedy.

All Im doing is saying count your wattage, make sure you have enough power handling, while you and others simply ignore the basics just to be here and argue over BS.... What harm is there in that and what pisses you off about that. These are just basics/fundamentals.....

How is this offensive to you or anyone and why be a douchebag over it..... Like what the fuck are you on about here :dunno:

I mean it's like no matter what response I give or how well my intentions are you really don't give a fuck and you're just going to be here, be a dick, argue and just be a douchebag for no reason. Who's got time for that...... Right or wrong it doesn't matter and your just here being a douchebag for no reason at this point.

You want to not use the proper power handling fine, you do fine in either case just here saying be aware of the risk...... Its ones choice, there is risk and what's the problem in recognizing that🤔

The problem is he came here to ask people that know. Your mickey mouse explanation could be found on google. It is basic shit that is technically right, but in practice, not applicable.

Then you fight to the death that you are right because you can multiply 20x4. I know that you may be the only one at the pizzeria that can do that, but it is mickey mouse math and not pertinent to a real conversation.

Are you seeing a pattern? Your broad knowledge base is all basic shit. That isn't even close to the realm of expert, yet that is how you present yourself.

When you brought up your mickey mouse opinions and mickey mouse math, that was ok. But when others desperately try to make you understand how it is not really a problem, you attack them for not being able to do the maths that seem to impress you.

The point is you are a joke. You just aren't that funny.

You know how we are always making the laughing emoticon on your posts? We aren't laughing with you daniel

Okay fine but you do acknowledge youre just being a douchebag for the sake of being a douchebag at this point..... Just because. Wrong or right you don't care and you're just being a douchebag for no reason now......

I guess my main thing here given experience and playing amps hard earlier in my life.... Having destroyed some amps when I was younger pushing them hard.

Its not a lot to ask for to simply count numbers and make sure you have the proper power handling...... This is all I'm advising others, OP, players etc etc to remember, sometimes it's taken for granted but its important.

These are just basics, fundamentals for the safety and use of ones amp and for players and their gear and rig.

Who is against that and just basics/fundamentals...... What's the problem.....

At that point what are you arguing about or whats the point, it's just good advice for players in general..... For their amps and gear/rig. Whats the problem and why would that bother anyone or make them upset 🤔

If you want to call me a douche for abusing you, I will agree. It isn't fair to pick on the mentally handicapped.

But it is no fucking secret that I am an asshole. And i have said this many fucking times, but I will say it again for you, Sally

I would like to take this opportunity to apologize....

I'm not here to stir shit or anything. I'm just saying make sure you use proper power handling and the right amount of power for your amps...... IME and IMO you're better off and again this is just basics/fundamentals.

My bad for simply telling players, not sure what the problem is doing so......

Im sorry this angered you and others :dunno:

I don't trust any "BBQ" cookouts outside of the South. Been served too many pale hotdogs in the Mid-West and North-East under the false presents of having Bar-B-Que.
I have heard of this phenomenon. In the south, bbq doesnt mean everytime you cook on a grill

I am near St Louis, if you are ever in the area, I will make sure you have all of your smoked meat needs covered.

so effectively you know more about cabs/heads/wattage/voltage than say the entire Fender Engineering team including James Brown & Howard Kaplan?
They ARE pushing the limit here, and he's right to call that out. Yes, there's some margin in Celestion's rating. But you just know if Celestion could have honestly called it a 25w speaker they would have for this very reason - their customers were going to want to make 100w cabs. There is not some engineering magic at Fender HQ that increases the power handling of the speakers. There's just marketing deciding to add 5w because it comes out round.

We're all big boys here, presumably with big boy wallets to match. If you want to buy a slightly underpowered cab, then you just have to pay up if and when a speaker blows. Nothing wrong with that. It's sort of like tires on a sports car - they're a wear item, suck it up. Conversely if you want a cab with more power handling, either with or without the 12M sound, there's options. Personally I like the 12M sound but I'm not going to buy a 100w head only to run it through 96dBSPL/1w/1m speakers. I want the big venue firepower if I need it. So I use V30s or other options and that's what I would recommend. Marshall never really trusted 2xGB with a 50w or 4xGB with a 100w, and I think they were right not to.

If you keep your stage volume in the 100-105dB or below range, they'll be perfectly safe.
