Cabinet for EVH 5150 III Stealth 100W

I will tell you a secret that isn't really a secret. Cranking a 100 watt amp is how you approach or exceed the 100 watt reality. Boosting it can help this along.

Halfway up the volume knob is what scientists refer to as "loud as fuck" (around 110 dbs). At that volume, it is outputting 50-60 watts.

Evh used to put 100+ watts through the speakers. He did it a lot and sometimes blew a speaker after months/years of abuse.

Almost none of us will ever recreate this scenario more than a few times if that often.

Tell me again about basic math

Try not to get stuck in your spam repeat mode. Try to listen to people that have done it. Don't repeat nonsense because you think you know something. You don't
Right on man, you do what you feel is best with your rig and your gear.

As long as you are comfortable with it and enjoy your rig who am I to say don't use the proper power handling. Its your rig, your choice, your gear bro *_*

I'm pretty sure I read a long time ago the EVH speakers ARE actual 25-watt greenbacks. The rating was just a marketing thing. Can anyone else confirm that?

Hi,
I'm about to pull the trigger on a new 4X12 cabinet.
What do you guys recommend?

I play only at home. Will a 2X12" work well with amp. For example the mathing cabinet?
I'd do a 2x12 or 4x12 with V30s. Pick your favorite brand - I bought a Soldano but honestly because I was using it with my Soldano rack rig and it's purple.

The low efficiency and low power handling of greenbacks is not for me. If I was going to do something more directly EVH style I'd do the Scumback BM-75. But the efficiency on those is shit too. Of course at home you may not care or may even like that. You can get them with high power handling.

It isn't me I worry about. It is the many people that ask for info on this forum that might take your TGP parroting for fact. Stay in your lane. I don't even know what that lane is, daniel. But stay there

If you feel comfortable using less power than recommended for your amps go right ahead man......

Its your gear, its your rig and it's your money and choice. Who am I to tell you what to do or or how to run your rig. Youre a grown ass man. Don't listen to me and do you baby *_*

No, talking about shit you have no idea about like you're a leading expert is retarded.
So is not being able to use decent grammar. "doing being able to"... you need the fonics monkey.

And you need a recap in basic maths apparently 😂

I don't think so. I'm pretty proficient at least up to calculus with a little knowledge in abstract algebra.
Perhaps you want to brush up on physics and electrical engineering which is more related to the topic at hand than "basic maths".
It doesn't require physics or electrical engineering to add or multiply basic numbers....... Or even calculus or algebra either.....

But hey dont take my word for it. Im no "expert" like you champ  :dunno:

Speaker impedance, wattage, and power handling is beyond the realm of "basic maths". You'd know that if you had any idea of what you were talking about.
Anyway, I'm just going to call you a fuckhead retard that's a shining example of the Dunning-Kruger effect and leave it at that. This is the main forum and I'm not going to completely fuck up a thread arguing with your continued stupidity.

13 year old girl emojis aside... You self admittedly are no expert. Why then would you parrot your minimal (read complete lack of) knowledge of this subject to someone who asks a question seeking an answer from people with experience or knowledge?

I see. Well if Eddy was still alive, you could teach him basic common sense and fundamentals. But since he is dead, just know that he went to the grave being wrong this whole time because you weren't there to teach him.

Fuck. I am still alive. Can you teach me all you know of high gain before I die? I mean, you do play high gain, right?
He taught me everything he knows and yet I still know nothing.

I always thought they 25 watter's .... for what ever that's worth ..... I remember doing research on them before I bought them ..... for this exact reason ...

and I remember reading about them being way under their OHM rating .... which mine were ... and that it was normal ... but I'm not sure what that equates to as far a power capability

Also in engineering the general rule of thumb is to test thoroughly at 1.5 times the rating in situations such as power handling. Trust me I have punished Greenbacks and V30'S in my Isocab. My 4104 Marshall combo was run into a single Greenback at 3.5 on the master for dozens of hours and is still going strong. V30 was dimed for 60+ hours and still going strong. A dimed boosted 50 watt marshall JCM800 is probably putting out more than the 60 watt rating of a V30 by a good margin. I Still have and use both of those speakers and eventually they will give up the ghost but they still are going strong after more than 10 years of use.

And well call me stupid but as said 80 watts ain't enough to safely power a 100 watt head and it doesnt take an "expert" to multiply 4 by 20 to understand this but apparently for a retard and "expert" like you this seems to be beyond your grasp of basic understanding
