If you want to use Math, then measure the amount of voltage your amp is putting out and calculate the power. At home volumes I would be very surprised if you go over 10W.

Common sense would be to understand the problem before you look for a solution. Measure the output so you can define how much power handling you require.

An amp at home volumes is putting out like 5W, which is far less than 80. It is only an issue if you are cranking the amp to stage volumes where you can't stand within 10 feet of it.

I tried to explain that .... real early on in the thread .....

this vid might give some perspective .... the only thing that sucks is you can't see where the volume knob is right when the power amp starts clipping
