Silly comparing him to VH. Wanna compare Vai to VH, where's EVH's solo recocords? The guy does what he wants and people like it.
As to Graham Bonnett, I saw him in 1980 killing it with Rainbow. He goes over the top alot but he's on some great records, Rainbow, Michael Schenker Group, Alcatrazz....
i can listen to the music and enjoy some of it. i just cannot watch the guy in concert. it ruins it for me as he becomes liza minelli.
he seems nice in interviews and when he talks to his fans etc.
bonnett....NO WAY. i saw him in 84 with alcatrazz/yngwie and all i wanted to do was jam his mic down his throat to make him stop. yngwie would run by and play a line that just destroyed me, then gram crackers would start screaming hiroshima or jet to jet and it was like biting a rotten grapefruit.
i resent him so deeply for the countless hours i had to endure his chortling to cop yngwie licks off the alcatrazz albums. i don't think i ever listened to disturbing the peace all the way through.
bonnett music-directing vai. my dream come true.

imagine dio on those alcatrazz albums instead....sigh....
